The Dorset Raptors is the Dorset branch of the Honda

Owners Club (GB).  You don’t have to be a Honda

owner, we welcome all makes of bikes to join

our club, ride-outs and camping weekends.

The name was born when we hosted the HOC

National Rally in 2008.  We needed a theme

and as Dorset is known as the Jurassic Coast,

we named the rally ‘The Jurassic Experience’.

We also needed a logo and as we couldn’t find

a dinosaur on two wheels, we decided to go for

one on two legs, the Velociraptor (Speedy Predator)

or Raptor for short.  The background of the badge is the Dorset flag.

We meet on the first and third Fridays of every month at the Royal Oak, Bere Regis (details on the Our Venue page).  We don’t have an agenda for our meetings, it’s very informal and the committee sits where they like. Some of us go there for the food, some for the beer, some to talk about bikes and some just to get out of the house.  The landlord of the Royal Oak is also a keen biker and welcomes our club with open arms.  So if you are passing that way on one of your ride-outs, pop in and say hello.  We quite often use a private room in the pub so if you turn up, just ask for us at the bar.

The Dorset Raptors supports the Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance, in the hope that we will never need their services.  We ask for a voluntary subscription of 50p for each meeting you attend, 25p goes towards the Air Ambulance.  The other 25p is used by the club to buy equipment needed for our camping weekends.
